Panic Attack is a discrete period in which there is the sudden onset of intense
apprehension, fearfulness or terror often associated with feeling of impending
doom.*
You could experience the following:
- Palpitations, pounding heart of accelerated heart rate
- Sweating
- Trembling/shaking
- Feelings of choking or smothering sensations
- Chest discomfort
- fear of "going crazy"
Agoraphobia is anxiety about or avoidance of places or situations from which
escape might be difficult or embarrassing or in which help may not be available in the
event of having a Panic Attack or panic-like symptoms.*
Social Phobia is characterized by clinically significant anxiety provoked by
exposure to certain types of social or performance situations, often leading to
avoidance behavior. *

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is characterized by obsessions which
cause marked anxiety or distress and or by compulsion which serve to neutralize
anxiety. *
Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is characterized by the reexperiencing
of an extremely traumatic event accompanied by symptoms of increased arousal and
by avoidance of stimuli associated with the trauma. The events are so traumatic that
person thought they were going to die or perhaps witnessed a death. Sexual assaults,
any type of physical attack where your person hood was threatened. Being
kidnapped, held hostage and war veterans commonly suffer from PTSD.
Dreams, nightmares, re-living the events over and over. As the anniversary of the
traumatic event gets closer, the more intense or real the event becomes again are
some of the symptoms of PTSD. It is not always known what triggers these reactions,
but what is known, there is help for them.*
Generalized Anxiety Disorder is characterized by at least 6 months of persistent
and excessive anxiety and worry.*
